TourTag

Labels your crew can read from the dock.

Name plates, tour labels and rack strips for touring gear, laid out in exact millimetres and printed on whatever is at hand: an office printer with crop marks, a sticker printer, or a 3D printer from the STL. It runs in the browser and started as a tool for my own cases.

Samples

What comes out of it

The same samples TourTag shows on its own front page, one by one. Every plate is drawn by the renderer that produces the print file, so the preview is the print.

  1. TourTag Rack strip, 1U: Department colour, production, tour, the rack name set largest, case number, truck and position. 482.6 mm wide, mounting slots to EIA-310.

Features

Made for the truck, not the screen

  • 01

    Three kinds of label

Name plates for the case itself, tour labels in the ruled Penn Elcom layout with client, box number, date, job number and contents, and rack panels or case labels in the tour panel layout: department with a colour code, production, tour, the rack name set largest, number, truck, stage position, weight, size, owner, a marking such as FRAGILE, and a QR code.

  • 02

    Exact millimetres

Every dimension is set in millimetres and the preset list only carries sizes with a published source. The text fills the plate by itself, and the Peli Air preset keeps the ornaments inside the safe zone the card holder leaves visible.

  • 03

    Design

Backgrounds from camouflage, carbon and hazard to tactical grids and blueprint, corner and frame ornaments, extras such as a serial number or barcode, four built-in faces or your own TTF or OTF. Your own artwork goes in as PNG at 300 or 600 DPI, as background or overlay.

  • 04

    Print anywhere

Sheets on A4, A3 or A2 at true size, with bleed and crop marks, portrait or landscape, whichever uses fewer pages. A plate wider than the paper moves up to the next ISO size or is tiled across pages with a 10 mm overlap and registration lines. Sticker mode puts each plate on a page of its own size for label printers. Copies per plate in the print window.

  • 05

    3D-printed plates

An STL export for a rigid plate: base plate and raised lettering, as separate files for a two-colour print. Rack panels come with their EIA-310 slots cut through, so the model mounts without drilling.

  • 06

    QR codes that point somewhere

A QR can carry whatever you type, or a HomeVault place link to your own HomeVault server, so scanning the plate opens the case's contents.

Sizes

Only sizes with a source

A plate that is a millimetre too wide does not fit the recess. The preset list therefore only carries sizes with a published source; for every other case you measure the recess and type the size in.

Questions

Credits, accounts, data

What does it cost?
Designing and storing plates is free, and a new account starts with 10 credits. A printed plate costs 1 credit, an STL export 5 credits once per plate version. Credits come in packs of 100, 300 and 1000, from 990 Ft. Reprinting a plate version you already paid for is free in any layout.
How do I sign in?
With an emailed one-time link, no password. New accounts accept the terms and privacy policy, both on the site.
Where does my data live?
On my own server. Uploaded artwork and fonts are private to the account that uploaded them, and you can export or delete the account from the account page.
Can an agent or a script make plates?
Yes. TourTag has an MCP server that lists, creates and updates plates, inserts HTML into a plate and renders a preview. Injected HTML is filtered on the server before it is stored.
