Privacy Policy

The app exists to move lighting control data, so it does use your network — but only the parts you configure it to use. It sends and receives sACN (ANSI E1.31) and Art-Net on the network interfaces you choose, to the multicast groups, broadcast addresses or unicast addresses you enter. Nothing leaves those interfaces.

There is no outbound connection to the internet at any point: no update check, no telemetry ping, no error reporting, no remote configuration. If you disconnect the machine from the internet entirely, the app behaves exactly the same.

macOS will ask for permission to use the local network the first time the app sends anything. That permission is between you and the operating system; the answer is not reported to me.

Two files, both local to your machine and both readable by you:

• Your configuration — the interfaces, routes and settings you set up, kept so the app opens where you left it. You can open, edit and save it yourself; it is an ordinary text file.
• A log file — the events the gateway recorded: when it started, which endpoints came up, what faulted and why. It is capped in size and rotates. It contains network interface names, IP addresses and universe numbers from your own configuration, because that is what makes it useful when something goes wrong during a show.

Neither file is transmitted anywhere. The log is only ever seen by me if you choose to send it to me while asking for help, and in that case only the file you attach.

The app is sold through the Mac App Store as a single payment. Apple handles the transaction, and I never see your payment details, name or address — I only receive anonymous sales figures from Apple, which cannot be traced back to an individual buyer. Apple's own privacy policy governs that part of the process.

This is a professional lighting tool with no social features, no user content and no data collection of any kind, so there is nothing here that is specific to children. It is not directed at them.

If the app ever gains a feature that changes any of the above — it will not gain analytics — this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Because nothing is collected, there is no historical data that a later policy could apply to retroactively.
