Privacy Policy

The app moves lighting control data, so it uses your network, but only the parts you configure. It sends and receives sACN (ANSI E1.31) and Art-Net on the network interfaces you choose, to the multicast groups, broadcast addresses or unicast addresses you enter. Nothing leaves those interfaces.

The app never connects to the internet. It has no update check, telemetry, error reporting or remote configuration. If you disconnect the machine from the internet, the app works the same way.

macOS asks for permission to use the local network the first time the app sends anything. That permission stays between you and the operating system, and your answer is not reported to me.

Two files, both local to your machine and both readable by you:

• Your configuration: the interfaces, routes and settings you set up, kept so the app opens where you left it. It is an ordinary text file that you can open and edit yourself.
• A log file: the events the gateway recorded, such as when it started, which endpoints came up and what faulted and why. It has a size limit and rotates. It contains interface names, IP addresses and universe numbers from your own configuration, which is what makes it useful after a problem during a show.

Neither file is sent anywhere. I only see the log if you send it to me with a support request, and then only the file you attach.

The app is sold through the Mac App Store as a single payment. Apple handles the transaction, and I never see your payment details, name or address. I only receive sales figures from Apple that cannot be traced back to a buyer. Apple's own privacy policy covers that part of the process.

The Linux server version is sold in the shop on this website and activates with a licence key, which means the server contacts riegergeri.com to activate the key. What the shop and the licence server store is described in the website privacy policy.

DMX Gateway is a professional lighting tool with no social features, no user content and no data collection. It is not directed at children.

If a future version changes anything described here, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Analytics will not be added. Since nothing is collected, a later policy has no earlier data it could apply to.
